General information
Name | Orvego® |
---|---|
Formulation | Suspension concentrate (SC) |
Ingredients | 300 g / lt Initium®, 225 g / lt dimethomorph (cinamic acid amides) |
Compatibility
Orvego® is very well tolerated in vines and hops.
Miscibility
Orvego® is miscible with plant protection products approved in viticulture and with Bellis®, Signum®, Polyram WG and with insecticides.® Mixtures with foliar fertilisers (brand quality) are usually possible.
Due to the large number of foliar fertiliser products, no liability can be assumed with regard to compatibility and miscibility. In tank mixtures, the areas of application and application regulations for the mixing partner determined and approved by the approval authority must be observed.
Mode of action
Orvego® is a combination fungicide consisting of the novel active ingredient Initium® (ametoctradine) and the proven, translaminar and locally systemic dimethomorph. Orvego® thus offers double protection, as it repels downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola) on the plant surface and in the tissue. The active ingredient Initium (ametoctradine) (independent FRAC group C8) is an active ingredient from the group of pyrimidylamins with long-lasting preventive effects. It inhibits mitochondrial respiration in complex III and thus the energy production of downy mildew fungi (oomycetes). Ametoctradin is effective against the infection stages of the Peronospora and inhibits the differentiation of zoospores in the zoosporangium, the release of zoospores from the zoosporangium and their motility, as well as the germination of encysted zoospores.®
Ametoctradine binds very well to the wax layer on the plant surface and forms stable active ingredient depots there, which are repeatedly dissolved and redistributed when damp.
Dimethomorph is an active ingredient from the group of carboxylic acid amides (FRAC code 40). It is effective against all stages of development of fungi in which active cell growth takes place and has a long-lasting effect. It intervenes in cell wall synthesis as well as lipid and membrane synthesis. The active ingredient penetrates the plant tissue and spreads translaminarly. Dimethomorph is active on both the plant surface and the plant, killing downy mildew in the early stages of infection. A particularly lasting effect is achieved by the antisporulating effect, which interrupts the reproduction cycle of the Peronospora and suppresses further spread of spores in the plant. With its plant-penetrating effect (subsystemic), Dimethomorph enables safe and comprehensive protection even in adverse weather conditions.
With many fungicides, there is generally a risk of the occurrence of drug-resistant fungal strains. Therefore, under particularly unfavourable conditions, a change in the effectiveness of the remedy cannot be ruled out. The application rates, spraying intervals and maximum number of applications recommended by BASF must be adhered to at all times.
