Terminus®

End of the line for late blight.

Category: Brand:

Description

Overview

Terminus® contains the active substance fluazinam, which belongs to the chemical group of phenylpyridylamines. The mechanism of action of fluazinam is based on an interruption of the respiratory chain of the harmful fungus. This reliably prevents spore germination as well as the development of the harmful fungus (sporicidal effect). The risk of the formation of resistant Phytophthora strains is classified as low.

Terminus® has a pronounced contact effect against late blight. Existing infestation is not controlled. The further spread of the infection, on the other hand, is reliably stopped.

In addition, Terminus® also protects the potato tuber from infections. Disease spores that have already formed are killed and can therefore no longer infect the tuber. This also significantly reduces the occurrence of brown rot in the later potato warehouse.

Caution

Terminus® contains the active ingredient Fluazinam, which belongs to the chemical group of Phenylpyridylamines. The mode of action of Fluazinam relies on interrupting the respiration chain of the harmful fungus. This reliably prevents spore germination and the development of the harmful fungus (sporicide effect). The risk of developing resistant Phytophthora strains is classified as low. Terminus® exhibits a pronounced contact action against Late Blight (Foliage and Tuber Blight). Existing infection is not controlled. However, the further spread of the infection is reliably stopped. Additionally, Terminus® also protects the potato tuber from infection. Spores already formed are killed and can therefore no longer infect the tuber. This also significantly reduces the occurrence of brown rot/late blight in subsequent potato storage.

Careful adherence to the instructions for use is important to avoid adverse effects.

Application

ARABLE FARMING

Plant Products: Potato
Pest/Target Organism: Late Blight (Foliage and Tuber Blight) (Phytophthora infestans)
Application Area: Open field
Crop Stage: From 1st basal side shoot (> 5 cm) formed up to 50 % of leaves discolored brown
Application Time: Upon risk of infection or according to warning service advice
Max. Number of Applications: Per application: 8 Per crop or per year: 8 Time interval: 7 to 10 days
Application Technique: Spray
Application Rate: 0.4 l/ha
Water Volume: 300 to 400 l/ha water
Waiting Period: 7 days
Other Notes: The first spraying should take place when the risk of Late Blight begins (usually shortly before row closure). Observe the advice of the local plant protection service or use Phytophthora prognosis programs. The higher water volume should be selected in vigorous weather conditions with strong foliage development and in the case of stem Phytophthora.

Miscibility/Technology

Miscibility
Terminus® is miscible with common systemic or partly systemic potato fungicides, as well as with insecticides. Apply spray liquid immediately after preparation. We are not liable for tank mixes not recommended/approved by us, nor for multiple mixes.

Preparing the Spray Liquid
Fill the spray tank halfway with water, turn on the agitator, shake the product vigorously before adding, add the product, and fill up with the remaining water volume.

Cleaning
Thoroughly clean the sprayer and lines with water after use. To do this, fill the tank with approx. 20% water and spray the inner surfaces of the tank with the water jet. Turn on the agitator for about 2 minutes. Then spray the cleaning liquid through the nozzles onto the previously treated area while the agitator is running. The regular external cleaning of the crop protection sprayer, especially the spray tank, pump unit, and boom, should be part of the normal operational procedure and should be carried out on the field whenever possible. Corresponding retrofitting kits with water storage tanks and cleaning brushes are offered by equipment manufacturers for this purpose.

Compatibility
Terminus® has proven to be well tolerated in all potato varieties used so far.

Environmental Behavior

Beneficial Organisms
NB6641 The product is classified as not hazardous to bees (B4) up to the highest application rate or concentration specified by the authorization, if an application rate is not provided. NN170 The product is classified as not harmful to populations of Chrysoperla carnea (Green Lacewing). NN1842 The product is classified as not harmful to populations of Aphidius rhopalosiphi (Braconid Wasp).

Aquatic Organisms

Water Protection
Please observe the application conditions for water protection (see separate section “Application Conditions Set by the Authorizing Authority”). SP 1 Do not allow the product and/or its container to enter water bodies. (Do not clean application equipment in the immediate vicinity of surface waters/prevent indirect entries via yard and street drains).

Application Conditions

Application Conditions Set by the Authorizing Authority
(NW468)  Do not allow application fluids and their residues, product and its residues, emptied containers or packaging, as well as cleaning and rinsing fluids, to enter water bodies. This also applies to indirect entries via the sewage system, yard and street drains, as well as rainwater and wastewater channels.

(NW605-1)  The application of the product on areas adjacent to surface water bodies – excluding those carrying water only occasionally, but including those carrying water periodically – must be carried out with equipment listed in the “Verzeichnis Verlustmindernder Geräte” (List of Drift-Reducing Equipment) of October 14, 1993 (Bundesanzeiger No. 205, p. 9780) in the currently valid version. Depending on the drift reduction classes listed below for the equipment used, the following distances from surface water bodies must be maintained. For the drift reduction classes marked with “*”, in addition to the minimum distance from surface water bodies bindingly specified by state law, the prohibition of application in or directly next to water bodies must be observed in every case. Reduced distances: 50%: 5 m, 75%: 5 m, 90%: *

(NW606) Waiver of the use of drift-reducing technology is only possible if the minimum distance specified below from surface water bodies – excluding those carrying water only occasionally, but including those carrying water periodically – is maintained during the application of the product. Violations can be penalized with a fine of up to 50,000 Euros. 10 m
