Description

Overview

Vastimo® is a liquid fungicide with preventive, curative and sustainable action against stem, leaf and ear diseases in wheat, barley, rye and triticale. By combining the two active ingredients fluxapyroxad and metconazole from the active ingredient classes of carboxamides (SDHI) and azoles, it has been possible to formulate a new, high-quality broad-spectrum fungicide that detects relevant fungal diseases in a particularly safe and long-lasting manner.

Vastimo® is characterized by a broad spectrum of activity against the most important fungal pathogens.

Miscibility/Technology

Miscibility
Vastimo® is miscible with all common herbicides, insecticides, and growth regulators, as well as foliar fertilizers of brand quality. For mixtures with ethephon-containing growth regulators, observe the instructions for use of these products: Always add ethephon-containing growth regulators last to the spray liquid! The addition of Ammonium Nitrate Urea solution (AHL) or urea is possible. The use of more than 20 l or kg product/ha can cause damage at high temperatures and low air humidity. For tank mixes with urea, dissolve it completely first. Only then add Vastimo® and other mixing partners as described. We are not liable for negative effects of tank mixes not recommended by us. Apply mixtures immediately while the agitator is running. In tank mixes, the application areas and conditions set and approved by the authorizing authority for the mixing partner must be observed.

Preparing the Spray Liquid
Fill the spray tank with at least half of the required water volume, add the product while stirring thoroughly, and top up with the remaining water volume. The spray liquid must be applied immediately after preparation without interruption. Avoid drift and over-dosing. Never prepare more spray liquid than necessary. Dilute unavoidable remaining spray liquid in a ratio of 1:10 and apply to the previously treated area. Rinse empty product containers thoroughly with water, add the rinse water to the spray liquid.

Cleaning
Thoroughly clean the sprayer and lines with water after use. Apply the resulting rinse water to the previously treated area. To do this, fill the tank with approx. 20% water and spray the inner surfaces of the tank with the water jet. Turn on the agitator for about 2 minutes. Then spray the cleaning liquid through the nozzles onto the previously treated area while the agitator is running. The regular external cleaning of the crop protection sprayer, especially the spray tank, pump unit, and boom, should be part of the normal operational procedure and should be carried out on the field whenever possible. Corresponding retrofitting kits with water storage tanks and cleaning brushes are offered by equipment manufacturers for this purpose.

Compatibility
Vastimo® is well tolerated in all cereal types.

SB166 Do not eat, drink, or smoke when handling the product. SB199 If the product is applied using application equipment mounted on, towed by, or self-propelled tractor, only vehicles equipped with closed, positive pressure cabins (e.g., cabin category 3 if no respiratory protection devices or particle-filtering masks are required, or cabin category 4 if gas-tight respiratory protection is required (according to EN 15695-1 and -2)) are suitable to replace personal protective equipment during application. During all other activities outside the cabin, the prescribed personal protective equipment must be worn. To avoid contamination of the cabin interior, it is not permitted to enter the cabin with contaminated personal protective equipment (this should be stored in an appropriate device). Contaminated gloves should be washed before removal, or hands should be cleaned with clear water before re-entering the cabin. SF1891 Re-entry into the treated areas/crops on the day of application is only possible with the personal protective equipment specified for applying the product. Subsequent work on/in treated areas/crops may generally only be carried out 24 hours after the application of the product. Application Conditions

Application Conditions Set by the Authorizing Authority
** (NW468) ** Do not allow application fluids and their residues, product and its residues, emptied containers or packaging, as well as cleaning and rinsing fluids, to enter water bodies. This also applies to indirect entries via the sewage system, yard and street drains, as well as rainwater and wastewater channels.

** (NW605-1) ** The application of the product on areas adjacent to surface water bodies – excluding those carrying water only occasionally, but including those carrying water periodically – must be carried out with equipment listed in the “Verzeichnis Verlustmindernder Geräte” (List of Drift-Reducing Equipment) of October 14, 1993 (Bundesanzeiger No. 205, p. 9780) in the currently valid version. Depending on the drift reduction classes listed below for the equipment used, the following distances from surface water bodies must be maintained. For the drift reduction classes marked with “*”, in addition to the minimum distance from surface water bodies bindingly specified by state law, the prohibition of application in or directly next to water bodies must be observed in every case. Reduced distances: 50%: 5 m, 75%: *, 90%: *

** (NW606) ** Waiver of the use of drift-reducing technology is only possible if the minimum distance specified below from surface water bodies – excluding those carrying water only occasionally, but including those carrying water periodically – is maintained during the application of the product. Violations can be penalized with a fine of up to 50,000 Euros. 5 m
