Mode of action
Vivando® is a fungicide for use in wine and hop cultivation with the active ingredient metrafenone. Metrafenone is the first active ingredient in the benzophenone class. The biochemical mechanism of action has not yet been clarified, but differs from all currently approved flour fungicides. Vivando® prevents the fungus from penetrating the plant tissue. In addition, mycelial growth, haustoria formation and sporulation of the mildew are inhibited. Vivando® is quickly absorbed into the plant tissue and has local systemic activity. The active ingredient is distributed on the plant surface via the vapor phase. This also protects growing tissue after application.
With many fungicides, there is a general risk of the occurrence of active substance-resistant fungal strains. Therefore, under particularly unfavorable conditions, a change in the effectiveness of the product cannot be ruled out. The application rates, spraying intervals and maximum number of applications recommended by BASF must be strictly adhered to.
